Here we have an adorable boys Christmas shortall made of green fine wale corduroy The focus of the outfit is the Gingerbread Man Applique. Every little boy knows the story of the gingerbread man and we all love to make and eat gingerbread at Christmas time. The Bailey Boys have created a delightful reversible shortall that is really fun for a child to wear for a special occasion. The reverse size is less decorated, since it doesn't have an applique design. It is made of green baby gingham and has green buttons on either side at the waist that match the buttons at the shoulders. The reversible design allows the shortall to be worn for Chrismas occasions and to also be worn to church or parties when there is no holiday to celebrate. It is two outfits in one. It is made of 100% cotton which makes it easy to care for and comfortable for a child to wear. The outfit I reviewed was in a Size 3T, but the same john john can perhaps be found in other sizes if you browse a little.
A Jon Jon is a one piece romper. Some say the nick name came from the fact that John Kennedy used to wear them as a child. I have also heard that the mother that created the Bailey Boys line started the nickname.
For those who sew clothing for children:
Reversible rompers are made by taking two separate rompers and then pinning them right sides together. Then you sew around the leg hem of each leg, then around the neckline (where the facing would go) leaving a small spot to turn it right side out. Then you turn it right side out, press, and close the hole with a little fusible tape or some tiny hand stitching. Last, you can topstitch it.
